The Church at Sardis

Does God care about your good works? If you are not sure, ask the Church at Sardis in the 3rd chapter of the Book of Revelation. It was there that Jesus spoke words of strong rebuke for a church that appeared to be alive but was nearly dead. He said to them that their deeds were incomplete and they needed to wake up. Do you believe that God is pleased with your life and your service to him? Come to…

It does not seem possible that by Thursday, February 14th, we are midway thru February.  When I was in school I enjoyed coloring pictures of Abraham Lincoln & George Washington as we celebrated President’s Day!!  We always received candy cherries with our coloring sheet of George Washington.  May you reflect as we celebrate their birthdays. I am asking you to send a Valentine to someone who probably won’t receive one this year.  If you hurry to the card shop and post office you can…

The Church At Thyatira

Jesus speaks the longest to the Church at Thyatira. He gives them many compliments but then gives them a deep warning about how their mixing of false teaching and immoral living is about to destroy many of them. They faced many pressures to conform to the pagan society around them. They were tempted to accept the standards of the world instead of holding to the call of Jesus to take up their cross and follow Him. Come and join us…

The Church At Pergamum

This Sunday, we will be hearing Jesus words to the Church at Pergamum and his commendation for how the church had endured the continuing persecution while holding on to their faith. We will hear of another Martyr, Antipas who was brutally put to death in the City, and through his death helped others to stay strong. But, Jesus also had some criticism of the church as they were being called to repent from being drawn away by the false teaching…

Work and Witness Team Returns!!!

The Work and Witness team arrived home safely around midnight Tuesday night. We had a great trip, accomplishing our goal of completing the church at Machaca. It was an awesome service dedicating the church on Sunday, along with about 12 people making decisions  for Christ. We also had a chance to worship at the Mountainview Church and renew some  friendships with the people we met there last year helping to build their church. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers as we…

A Great Man Named Polycarp

On Sunday we will continue our study of the Seven Churches in the Book of Revelation. The Church for this week is Smyrna, and it was a place of some pretty intensive persecution. Christians who would not deny Christ were Beaten, Burned to death, Fed to the Lions and other kinds of torture. Come and hear the story of Polycarp – and more important, be challenged by the letter to the Church at Sardis to be faithful to Christ no…
